As many of y’all can guess, I am in Las Vegas, NV for the week! We arrived on Saturday August 6th and will be in this sunny state until Sunday, August 14th. Here is what we have done so far 🙂
Sunday, August 7th:
We drove to Lake Mead to spend the day there!
I highly, highly, highly suggest visiting Lake Mead if you are ever anywhere near it! It was about a 30 mile drive, so we knew it was essential to spend the whole day there. Lake Mead was bustling with jet skiers, water tubing, and water sports.
Y’all first of all, Nevada is beautiful. Second of all, Boulder City is so stinkin stunning (try to say that three times)!
We arrived about 1pm, and luckily there was a Lake Mead Boat Cruise leaving the dock at 2pm! We bought tickets to hop on board (about $26 per adult). The cruise itself was a 90 minute tour and one of the coolest parts was that you actually got to see the Hoover Dam!
Our boat’s name was the Desert Princess and it had three floors. One floor (the middle) for sitting and the other two for standing! We stood for a good chunk of the trip and just took in the amazing scenery. Check it out for yourself y’all…if this doesn’t catch your breath than idk what will! 🙂
Monday, August 9th
We spent the day doing various activities!
Monday was all about setting up the rest of the week. We bought tickets to see Blue Man Group and Mystere by Cirque Du Soleil and mapped out which day we would involve what activities.
Then, we got dressed and called a Uber to take us to various hotels to pick up our show tickets! It was so amazing to see the inside of these other hotels. Y’all the designs of some of these buildings is absolutely ridiculous (-ly cool!). I can’t believe that someone(s) thought of the structures of some of these hotels! The insides though, y’all don’t shy away from seeing all the hotels when you come to visit Vegas!
After picking up our show tickets, we headed to Mandalay Bay hotel to visit the Shark Reef Aquarium.
I was extremely disappointed.
The ads for this aquarium ended up being totally different from the aquarium itself (shocker, right?). I thought it was too expensive for how little and non-diverse the aquarium actually was. Nonetheless, we are still happy we finally visited it.
Then it was dinnertime and I had to finish my VT online courses!
Thanks for reading y’all! I can’t wait to show you what else we have planned for the week 🙂
