A Week In Fort Lauderdale, FL: Wrap-up

As many of you know, I just spent a week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with 11 of my best friends!

There were six of us gals and six guys, so it was perfectly 50/50 split! Out of the 12 of us, 10 had just completed their first year of college at JMU, CNU, Virginia Tech, or UVA, so the week was filled with college talk and advice for us two freshies!

The house we stayed at was absolutely stunning. It was located on a canal in a busy but quiet neighborhood. Literally two minutes away was a shopping center with several restaurants and a Winn Dixie (grocery store), which was extremely convenient. Even better, about a 10 minute drive down the road was Fort Lauderdale by the Sea, which was a beautiful beach.

The beaches of Fort Lauderdale were amazing, but the ocean was even better. The water was the perfect temperature and felt great. The water, suprisingly, wasn’t yucky or brown. In fact, we were able to see our feet (woot woot) and even spotted a couple fishies who were content on chasing us around for about 20 minutes!

Over the course of the week we:

  1. Went jet skiing
  2. Went go carting
  3. Went to an arcade
  4. Went to a bar-restaurant with live music
  5. Went to Miami for the night
  6. Went to a fun Boardwalk
  7. Went to the beach several times
  8. Spent a lot of time in our pool and hot tub
  9. Discovered an amazing deli (shoutout to NY Deli, y’all were so good that we literally went everyday at least once)
  10. Took plenty of naps
  11. Bonded
  12. Saw a sea turtle bury its eggs

Overall, I rate the trip a solid 8.7 out of 10! Surprisingly, there hardly was any drama and we all became closer. It got me extremely excited for college after hearing some of their stories and advice, and I loved getting to bond with everyone. The location, our house, and the weather were all a 10/10! I recorded the entire week with my GoPro, so be on the lookout for a Travel Diary!
